STIR FRIED PANEER WITH BELL PEPPER

Stir fried panner
This recipe is from the book "My Indian Kitchen ", by Hari Nayak. This is a good side dish for pulav and chappathis.
INGREDIENTS
  1. 1/2 cup paneer , cubed
  2. 1 small onion , finely chopped
  3. 2 tomatoes , chopped
  4. 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  5. chopped coriander leaves
  6. 1 tsp coriander powder
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  8. chili powder as per taste
  9. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  11. 1/2 of a small capsicum(bell pepper), chopped into big chunks
  12. 1/2 of a small onion , chopped into big chunks
  13. 2 Tbsp. oil 
  14. salt to taste
METHOD

  • Heat oil in a sauté pan. When the oil is hot , add the finely chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté till the raw smell of the ginger-garlic paste goes away.







  •  When the onion mixture is well fried , add the spice powders(6-8). Give it a quick stir and quickly add the tomatoes. Sauté till the tomatoes are mushy.(about 5 minutes)









Now add in the paneer and garam masala. Stir , add salt and let the onion-tomato masala coat the paneer.(about 5 minutes). 


  • Now add in the kasuri methi , coriander leaves ,onion and capsicum chunks. Turn off the stove. Cover and keep for 30 minutes.





  • Check for salt . Serve hot with chappathi or pulav.
