HOW TO CUT A PINEAPPLE

This is how my mother cleans and carves out the eyes of the pineapple . 

METHOD

• Place the pineapple on its side. Slice out the crown(top part) and stem(bottom part) of the pineapple.
  
  
  
  
  
• Stand the pineapple up on the bottom end and slice the skin off the sides , going from top to bottom , slicing as thinly as possible. Do not slice off the brown eyes. It can be carved out using a knife. After slicing the skin off , the pineapple can be washed.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

• The brown eye spots will line up in diagonal rows on the pineapple. Cut a V-shaped groove along the diagonal line to remove each set of eyespots.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

• Cut the pineapple into circles , chunks or length wise.
