STORING FRESH CORIANDER LEAVES
Things Required:
- A bunch of coriander leaves
- a rectangular storage box
- kitchen towels
Method:
- Line the bottom of the rectangular box with 2 kitchen towels.
- Untie the bunch of coriander leaves. Place the bunch , loosely in the box.
- Cover the leaves with another folded 2 set of kitchen towels.
- Close the box with the lid. Keep in the refrigerator.
NOTES
- I wash the leaves just before using them . In that way the leaves store well in the box without too much moisture.
- Initially I used to just keep it wrapped in a paper towel , but it used to dry out because it was not tightly packed. Keeping it in the box keeps it fresh.
- Tried the same with mint leaves but didn't work out. The leaves started turning black after 4 days.
FREEZING MINT LEAVES
- Freezing washed and chopped mint leaves has worked well for me. The same can be done for coriander leaves.
- Separate the mint leaves. Wash it under running water and drain it for 5 minutes.
- Chop the leaves and put in a a storage box and freeze it.
- Scoop out the frozen leaves with a spoon and use it as required.
FREEZING CORIANDER LEAVES
- In a big bowl of water , dip the whole bunch of coriander leaves 4 to 5 times.
- Take a few stems at a time ,wash it under running water and chop it. Do it for the whole bunch.
- Store the chopped coriander in a storage box in the freezer.
- Scoop out the frozen leaves with a spoon and use it as required.
