COOKING BASMATI RICE

This is how I cook rice for making fried rice and biriyani.
INGREDIENTS
  1. 2 cups basmati rice soaked in water for 20 minutes
  2. 10 cups water
  3. 3 and 1/2 tsp salt

METHOD

Cooking the rice
  • Bring a big pot with 10 cups of water to boil. Put in the washed and drained basmati rice. Cover and cook. Bring it to a boil.


  • When the rice begins to boil ,  turn off the stove and keep it covered for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes turn on the stove and bring to boil again. Add 3 and 1/2 tsp of salt. Turn off stove and keep covered for 2 more minutes.
  • Now drain the rice. Keep aside.
