CHOCOLATE FROSTING

This has been my go to , chocolate frosting. Found this on the back of the hershey's cocoa powder tin.



RECIPE
  1. Butter - 1/2 cup(1 stick)
  2. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 2/3 cup
  3. Powderered sugar - 3 cup
  4. Boiling water - 1/3 cup +2 tbsp.
  5. salt - 1/4 tsp plus more as per taste
Method
  • Melt the butter . Microwave the butter for 2 minutes at power 2. It won't be completely melted but that's OK.


  • Beat the butter along with the salt using a cake beater, until soft.

  • Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and water, beating to spreading consistency.




  • Scrape the sides of the bowl.
         

  •   About two cups of frosting.
  • Cover and keep until ready to use.
Notes
  • The recipe calls for vanilla essence but I don't use vanilla essence if the cake or frosting call for 1/4 cup or more of cocoa powder.
  • The frosting can be kept outside for upto 4 days.
