ZOOM GAMES - GUESS THE TUNE
For the past one year , this is what my cousins, friends and myself have been up to . Yes! Zoom games. Due to COVID , everybody has been indoors with no chance to meet in person and then, came along ZOOM.
I was looking for ideas for online games other than Kahoot . As usual , I was listening to NPR in the morning and heard about how this person played " Guess the tune " , with his family via Zoom. Just the thing I wanted . There was no looking back. Its been a year of playing online family games. Have come across a lot of other games but, " guess the tune" , remains my favorite.METHOD
- I made a list of the all my favorite songs , not only film songs but also advertisements, theme songs etc.
- The fun is to think of songs/tunes that people are very familiar with , ones that are very popular , ones that they have heard so many times but forgot about it over the years . Its should be at the tip of their tongues but not able to mention the name.
- Now with the list ready , I found all the songs on you tube and converted that to mp3 using a converter. Here is the link to that. YouTube to Mp3 Converter (ytmp3.cc)
- To edit the songs , I used audacity. The tune should be played for just 10 seconds . Find a strip that does not have any lyrics and has only music. Here is the link to that. Download | Audacity ® (audacityteam.org)
- When playing on zoom , use the, "share the computer sound only", option .
- That's it. Play the tunes and enjoy the game.
- Other variations : Guess the film - play film dialogues .
RULES
- Play the tune for a few seconds and if anyone recognizes it ask them to raise hand(on zoom ) or physically raise their hand.
- They can guess the artist , song, title, album etc.
- One point for each right answer.
