HERSHEY'S "PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" CHOCOLATE CAKE

chocolate cake, one bowl chocolate cake

Hershey's" perfectly chocolate" chocolate cake (recipe on the back of Hershey's cocoa box) is excellent for a one-bowl cake. I love the texture and color of the cake, which is exceptionally moist. But the recipe didn't really work for me, tastewise. The soapy smell of baking soda keeps coming up in the cake. It starts to disappear the next day. I have tasted this cake my friends and cousins made, which worked perfectly for them.
Yet this cake comes together in a jiffy, moist, and rises well. And it's so foolproof that even if it sits in the oven for a little longer, it is still moist and never seems to dry up.
This recipe did not work for me. I was not ready to compromise on taste. So I reduced the amount of the leavening agents, and voila, I have a wonderful one-bowl chocolate recipe with no soapy taste.
I have halved Hershey's" perfectly chocolate" chocolate cake recipe.

  2. 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. flour
