CABBAGE STIR FRY with coriander leaves

I used to make cabbage thoren all the time. This cabbage stir fry was introduced to me by my husband's cousin sister. She had made prawns and bacon fried rice and this cabbage stir fry was the side dish to that. Had never tried this combination. Surprisingly the cabbage turned out to be a very good side dish to the rice.


INGREDIENTS
  1. 8 cups thinly sliced cabbage(600 gms.)
  2. 1/4 of a medium sized onion , sliced thinly(30 gms. )
  3. 4 garlic cloves, sliced thinly
  4. 3 green chilis , slit
  5. handful of coriander leaves, chopped
  6. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  7. 2 Tbsp oil
  8. salt to taste
METHOD

  • Prep the ingredients.



  • Heat a pan on medium-high heat.When warm , add the oil , when the oil is hot , add the onions, green chilis and garlic , saute.Saute , until the onions turn translucent. 





  • Then add the turmeric powder, stir, then add the cabbage, let the cabbage heat up, then turn the heat to high, add salt to the cabbage, and stir fry till the cabbage is cooked.  Toward the end, garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
