BAKING IN A BUNDT PAN

I bought a Bundt pan and  it was only when I started using it that I learnt that there were some tips and tricks to bake in it and to get the perfect bundt cake.


PREPARING THE BUNDT PAN FOR BAKING
  • Apply softened butter in the Bundt. Apply using your finger , reaching out into the crevices too. I do not dust the pan with flour. Just butter will suffice.



INVERTING THE CAKE AFTER BAKING


  • Cover the bundt pan with the cake, with a kitchen towel. Keep aside for 10-20 minutes,giving them time to settle and shrink back a bit from the sides of the pan.
  • After the initial cooling process ,place an inverted plate or cooling rack over the pan and, holding holding both sides firmly with over mitts,carefully flip the pan over to release the bundt.
  • The cake should be still warm to invert it . 
  • If the bundt doesn't release   Loosen the sides with the tip of a plastic spatula. Using a plastic spatula helps to avoid the sides of the non-sticky pan from being scraped. Loosen the middle part too.
  • If you don't have a plastic spatula , the tip of a plastic spoon can be used.




  • Invert the Bundt pan onto a plate . Keep it inverted on the plate for 5 minutes. The cake will slowly be released from the Bundt pan and fall on to the plate.
