TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES
Women are the primary caretakers of the rest of the family. We have so many roles to play. And we end up with with no time for ourselves . But we have to realize the fact that finding time to take care of ourselves is not being selfish , infact it helps us to ready ourselves for the myriad roles we play.
There is nothing to feel guilty about pampering ourselves for a few minutes everyday.

- If you are a stay at home mom , take a short nap after lunch or lie down for atleast 30 minutes. Working moms take that afternoon siesta during the weekends.
- Make sure you have balanced nutritious meals.
- Treat yourself as if you were pregnant!!!!!!!??????? . Have you seen and watched how the pregnant women go about themselves? They eat the best nutritious meals , make sure they get sufficient water(most of them have the water bottle along with them!!), make sure they get the exact number of hours of sleep , have food at the correct time , do some meditation or yoga , keep aside some time for prayer. All this for their baby growing inside. If we continue this even after delivery ,we definitely would have a healthy , happy life.
- Each day before you take a bath , apply warm oil to a part of your body and massage for a little time . Do this everyday and in effect you have given yourself a complete oil bath and massage by the end of the week. Little by little , day after day does the trick.
- If you have started seeing a few gray hair , start henna atleast once a month. Do this regularly .Don't wait to see the white streaks again. Even a few white strands stand out from among the black hair . I know this doesn't make you literally young but feeling young brings about a special joy.
- Be a constantly praying mom, wife...(whatever role you play). There is power in constantly praying. And don't forget to pray for yourself.
- Avoid lifting a lot of weight. We don't realize that when we work in the kitchen. I buy the one gallon can of milk ,and taking that out of the fridge everyday , many times was heavy . Now I I transfer the milk to a 2 cup ,measuring cup and keep it closed with a lid in the fridge. I refill the cup as it becomes empty.
- Don't use phones, internet etc. (if you can ) after 8 , Hmmmm , maybe 9 '0' clock in the night. Assign a parking space for all digital devices and ask everyone in the family to park their devices before dinner.
