PEA + POTATO + CARROT CURRY
When peas curry alone is boring, try making this combination. My mom makes this as a side dish for chappathi.

- 3/4 cup peas soaked in water overnight
- 1 potato, cubed
- 1 carrot, cubed
- 100 gms. onion sliced
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- small piece of ginger grated
- 1 green chili
- curry leaves
- 1 Tbsp. coriander powder
- 1 tsp perumjeerakam powder
- 1/2 tsp each of garam masala(optional), turmeric powder, chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- salt per taste(start with 1-1/2 tsp table salt)
METHOD
- This has just 3 steps :
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked peas, potato, and carrot along with water and salt, and pressure cook on high for 3 whistles.
- Heat a kadai on medium-high heat. When warm, add oil. When the oil is hot, add the onions and saute until translucent. Then add the garlic, ginger, green chili, and curry leaves and saute for a few seconds. Then add the spice powders and saute.
- Then add the cooked peas, potato, and carrot. Mix well, bring to a rolling boil, and turn off. Check for salt and serve with chappati.
